10 guests maximum. Admission is selective.

You have done everything right.

The career. The family. The responsibilities. The relentless forward motion.

And somewhere between all of it, you stopped recognizing yourself.

Not because you failed. Because you never stopped long enough to ask what you actually want anymore.

You are not burned out. You are not broken. You are at a threshold, and some part of you has known it for a while.

This circle is Not for you if:

You are looking for a social getaway with spa treatments, late beach-days and rosé.

You want quick hacks, surface-level inspiration and short-cuts to success.

You are not ready to be brutally honest with yourself.

You prefer to stay comfortable & avoid challenges.

This circle is for you if:

You are done performing a version of yourself that no longer fits.

You value depth, privacy, and real conversation over entertainment.

You are willing to sit with discomfort long enough to find what is on the other side.

You want to leave with clarity you can actually act on, not just a feeling that fades by Monday.

This retreat was designed for accomplished leaders 35+ who are ready to stop postponing their fullfilment.

10 guests maximum. Admission is selective. We review every application personally.

What will you get out of this retreat

Daily embodied practice

Every morning begins with movement: yoga, breath-work, and guided meditation led by experienced facilitators. Not to perform, not to perfect, but to reconnect you to your own body after years of living entirely in your head. By day three, most women describe feeling more present than they have in years.

Nervous system restoration

Chronic high-performance leaves a residue. This retreat is designed to clear it, through cold immersion, nature immersion, deep rest, and optional ceremonial work that creates new mental pathways. You will not be pushed. You will be invited. There is a difference, and you will feel it.

Post-retreat accountability

Clarity without structure fades by the following week. That is why your retreat does not end on May 26. Your facilitators check in with you in the weeks that follow — to help you honor the decisions you made, maintain the habits you built, and stay true to the version of yourself you found here.

Retreat Location, where you’ll stay:

Rancho Verde Tulum

A cat running outdoors on grass with an ostrich in the background.
Living room with large sectional sofa, potted plants, a large beige pouf, and a tall palm tree, surrounded by windows and natural light.
A backyard scene with a small, oval, above-ground swimming pool surrounded by greenery and trees. There is a lounge chair, a small table, and a wooden deck area with a storage box nearby.
A colorful fruit display featuring sliced watermelons, pineapples, grapes, bananas, and assorted berries arranged on a table with bowls of fruit and a large mango.
Sunset over a dense tropical forest with a colorful sky filled with dark clouds and orange hues.

Rancho Verde is a private, gated jungle sanctuary minutes from Tulum's Caribbean coast.

A zero-waste eco-community with a villa, chapel, garden house, private pool and yoga space.

This is not a hotel. It is our home.

Bright, airy bedroom with a wooden four-poster bed covered by a mosquito net, large windows, potted plants, and an air conditioning unit on the wall.
A cow and two puppies eating on a grassy area with plants and trees in the background.
A living area with two beds, a beige sofa with a striped pillow, and sliding glass doors that open to a lush outdoor garden.
Modern kitchen with concrete walls, large windows with green plants outside, stainless steel kettle on stove, toaster, sink, paper towels, and decorative plants inside.

A sustainable jungle home away from home, created as a place to realign.

A healthier, more purposeful relationship with yourself, your habits and the unique gifts you have to offer this world.

Meet your facilitators

Your hosts at Rancho Verde Tulum

A woman with long blonde hair wearing a brown sweater and white pants, standing against a textured beige wall, looking at the camera with a slight smile. Fem, founder Liefs, retreat host, coach, facilitator. Rancho Verde.

Fem Huijsmans-Massink, MSc, BSW, Retreat Lead

Fem knows what it means to rebuild yourself from nothing. Orphaned at eight and raised in foster care, she learned early that resilience is not a personality trait, it is a practice.

That understanding became the foundation of everything she does.

By training she is a social worker and holds a Master's in Business, Communication and Organization. In practice, she has spent her career creating spaces where people feel genuinely seen, from nationally televised sports events in the Netherlands to music festivals in Texas, award-winning service at her zero-waste & plant-based café in Tulum, to the retreat circles she leads today at Rancho Verde.

Fem does not coach from theory. She leads from lived experience. When you are in her space, you will feel the difference.

She and Thomas raise their two daughters, Sofia and Emma Jane, at Rancho Verde, the same land where you will spend your five days. This is not a rented venue. It is their home.

A man with gray hair and a beard, wearing a beige t-shirt, standing behind a white surface with his arms resting on it, smiling at the camera, against a plain white background.

Thomas Massink, MSc, MA, Retreat Lead

Thomas spent his twenties doing everything society wanted from him: engineering degree from Delft, history masters from Leiden, offshore career, corporate expat-life in Houston. And then, deliberately, he walked away from all of it.

Not because it failed. Because it was not what he lives for.

That decision, to trade security for purpose, is what he and Fem built Liefs Tulum from in 2019. What started as a vegan VW van in Tulum is now an award-winning café, a retreat sanctuary, and a community rooted in the belief that how you eat, live and spend your time is most fulfilling when you are fully aligned

Thomas brings that same direct, no-shortcuts honesty to every retreat. He does not ask guests to do anything he has not already done himself. The hard conversations, the real clarity, the decision to actually change, he has been there.

He and Fem raise their daughters Sofia and Emma Jane at Rancho Verde. When you arrive, you are not a guest at a hotel. You are a most welcome guest in their home.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Basically everything except for your plane ticket. Everything.

All nights accommodation at Rancho Verde in your chosen room type, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks) curated and catered by award-winning Liefs.

All retreat sessions (yoga, breath-work, meditation, creative workshops, guided ceremonies), excursions to cenotes and local natural sites, and post-retreat accountability coaching.

The only things not included are your flights, transport to Rancho Verde you’re not coming from Tulum Airport, and any personal purchases. There are no hidden costs.

  • Rancho Verde is available as an Airbnb before and after the retreat dates if you want to arrive early or take time to decompress before flying home. Mention your interest to extend in the application and we will check availability for you. We are happy to provide additional wellness services as desired.

  • Yes. The retreat is designed for guests who want clarity and real change. Not those who want to chant and float. You will move your body, eat well, sleep deeply, have honest conversations, and do structured work on where you are and where you want to go. Spiritual and ceremonial elements are optional, not mandatory. Several of our best guests have described themselves exactly as you just did.

  • This is one of the most common questions we receive, and one of the most common surprises.

Liefs has earned Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice Award four years running. One of our most-quoted reviews is from a guest who said: "I am so not a vegan person… but this has definitely changed my perception." The food is the most talked-about part of the retreat, including by guests who came skeptical. Arrive hungry. Leave satisfied.

  • Maximum ten guests.

From our side: facilitators, a session coach and two to four crew, for the hosting & catering part.

We curate every group carefully. Admission is selective precisely because the dynamic between guests is as important as the program itself. Guests typically range from their late thirties to mid-fifties. They are accomplished, self-aware, and ready for honest conversation. Most arrive not knowing anyone. Most leave with friends they will know for years. We do not mix retreat cohorts with Airbnb guests during retreat weeks. The Ranch will be retreat guests exclusive.

  • Please tell us in your application. All food is 100% plant-based and can be adapted for allergies, intolerances, and most medical dietary needs.

For physical conditions that may affect participation in yoga, breath-work, cold immersion, or ceremonial work, we ask that you inform us in advance so we can plan appropriately.

    All activities are voluntary.

You will never be pressured to participate in anything that does not feel right for you.

  • Rancho Verde is a private, gated jungle sanctuary a short drive from Tulum's Caribbean coast.

It is not a hotel. It is our home, a zero-waste eco-community with a villa, a converted chapel, a garden house, a private pool, and yoga and wellness areas surrounded by jungle.

Airbnb guests have awarded it ‘top 10% Guest Favorite and Superhost status consistently. Private room and shared room optioens are available. You can see the various spaces in more detail at at eatatliefs.com/airbnb.

  • We understand that life happens.

Cancellations made more than 60 days before the retreat start date receive a full refund. Cancellations between 30 and 60 days receive a full credit toward a future retreat.

Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable, though your spot may be transferred to another guest. In the unlikely event we cancel the retreat, you receive a full refund. All terms are confirmed in writing at the time of booking.

  • The closest international airport is Tulum (TQO), ± 20-30 minutes from the Ranch.

The biggest, Cancún International (CUN), is ± 90–120 minutes from Tulum by road. Direct flights operate from most major US, European and Latin American cities.

From TQO and CUN your ground transportation is included in the price if you share the comfortable shuttle ride with at least two fellow retreat guests.

If you want to travel on your own terms. For Cancún airport, ADO buses run directly to Tulum town (approximately $12–15 USD), or you can arrange a private transfer (approximately $60–100 USD).

Once confirmed and knowing your flight ticket, we will send you precise directions to Rancho Verde and suggest best transfer options.
